Context
Extensive lighting, HVAC, refrigeration and long operating hours during the peak season. The fun and excitement of amusement parks comes at a high cost in terms of electricity bills. Traditionally, this energy has been sourced directly from the grid, resulting in environmental impact and exposure to power fluctuations.
At a local amusement park in Romania, a 260 kW rooftop PV system was installed to generating clean electricity to support its sustainability vision.

However, the amusement park’s unique energy pattern introduced several challenges.
- 24/7 Energy Needs: Park restaurants run refrigerators and other critical equipment around the clock. To avoid wasting daytime solar surplus and cover continuous loads more economically, the park needed to boost PV self-consumption.
- Space Constraints & Time Sensitivity: Limited space and a need to preserve the park’s daily operation called for a compact solution that could be deployed quickly.
- Seamless Integration: The BESS needed to integrate with the existing PV system and communicate reliably with the client’s EMS for real-time monitoring and energy optimization.
Soluție
POWEROAD deployed two FLEX 215 all-in-one energy storage systems (200 kW / 430 kWh) with the existing PV system.
- The system stores excess solar power and discharges during peaks, maximizing solar self-consumption and reducing the client’s electricity costs.
- The plug-and-play, lightweight design enabled forklift installation within one day, minimizing operational disruption.
- Each FLEX 215 AIO unit is equipped with one PMS, which manages the system safety of the local PCS and At the same time, it receives dispatching from the client’s EMS to ensure reliable operation of the system.
