Titled “Since 2021: The Story Behind POWEROAD’s First Belgian Project”, the video offers an inside look at how a local bakery supply facility successfully integrated a 350kW / 748kWh first generation of POWEROAD ESS to enhance solar self-consumption, provide backup power, and optimize electricity costs through demand charge reduction and power quality regulation.
The video features an exclusive interview with the factory owner, who shares why energy storage became essential for their solar-heavy operations and how POWEROAD’s solution helped turn a challenge into a profitable and sustainable model.
“You need batteries if you have solar — it’s as simple as that,” said Piet Dhaeze, the factory owner. “We really did very well with that. I always found it a shame that we didn’t put two batteries, but now we’ve already bought another battery and the system is working really well.”
Installed in 2021, this pioneering project marked POWEROAD’s official entry into the European C&I energy storage market and remains a benchmark for similar facilities seeking to align energy use with solar generation and grid stability.
