On September 18th, POWEROAD’s state-of-the-art 6GWh Shanghang Manufacturing Base officially commenced operations. With the first batch of liquid cooling battery modules rolling off the production line, this milestone marks the beginning of a new era for POWEROAD’s liquid cooling ESS product series. The project, constructed in three phases, will achieve a production capacity of 1GWh for liquid cooling ESS upon completion of the POWEROAD Shanghang Manufacturing Base.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of shareholders, commemorating the facility’s official launch. Located in the Tupu Village Industrial Zone of Lincheng Town, Shanghang County, the POWEROAD 6GWh lithium battery energy storage system manufacturing base is a key initiative for Fujian Province, with a total investment of approximately 1.2 billion RMB (about 180 million USD) and covering an area of 120 mu (around 80,000 square meters). The project is expected to reach full capacity by 2026.
Inside the facility, the assembly lines for liquid cooling battery modules and PACK systems are in full swing, producing to meet delivery orders. Robotic arms precisely handle the battery cells, placing them on conveyors for OCV (Open Circuit Voltage) and blue film testing to ensure each cell meets stringent insulation and safety standards while achieving consistent performance levels.

Once prepared, the automated production line carries out liquid cooling plate assembly, adhesive application, and module encapsulation, followed by EOL and air-tightness testing. After 28 production processes and 9 advanced safety checks, the energy storage liquid cooling battery modules are produced, meeting the IP67 protection standard, with stable performance and intelligent efficiency.
The automation rate of the new liquid cooling battery module and PACK assembly line exceeds 95%, representing a significant leap in process optimization, technological improvement, and production efficiency. A noteworthy feature of the new production line is its comprehensive quality traceability system, utilizing the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for real-time data tracking, ensuring traceability from production to delivery, and significantly enhancing quality management and product assurance.
Construction of the 6GWh lithium battery energy storage system manufacturing base began on July 31, 2023. Throughout just over a year, with accelerated progress day and night, the main structure was completed in May 2024. After the installation of equipment in August, the facility underwent nearly a month of comprehensive testing and trial production, leading to its official commencement of production.

Focusing on intelligent manufacturing and green production, this manufacturing base is committed to delivering ultra-safe, intelligent, and efficient liquid cooling energy storage systems in terms of capacity, quality, innovation, and safety. POWEROAD’s new liquid cooling product series is reliable and adaptable to various complex environments, offering higher energy density and a smaller footprint. With intelligent temperature control, low energy consumption, and high energy efficiency, the system maintains low battery temperature rise and minimal temperature variation, extending system life and reducing the cost of electricity per kilowatt-hour. Its pre-installed design allows for whole-unit transportation and rapid deployment, while the simple system structure ensures easy installation and plug-and-play functionality.
The product applications will focus on commercial and industrial energy storage as well as large-scale utility scenarios.
