Háttér:

A special education school located in the Netherlands is dedicated to providing tailored education for young people with behavioral and psychological problems. To align with its sustainability goals, the school had already installed a solar system, aiming to reduce reliance on the grid and lower its carbon footprint. 

However, despite generating renewable energy, the absence of an efficient storage solution meant that much of the solar power went unused, especially during off-peak hours. To overcome this challenge and ensure a reliable power supply, the school urgently needed an energy solution that could supplement the existing grid and support its sustainability goals.

  • Grid Congestion:The regional grid infrastructure was unable to fulfill the school’s increasing electricity demand, resulting in limited available power capacity and constraining further development.
  • Unstable Power Supply:Without a stable and reliable energy source, the school may experience frequent operational disruptions, affecting essential educational activities and daily routines.
  • Underutilized Solar Energy:The school had already installed a solar system for sustainability, however, without an energy storage solution, excess solar energy couldn’t be efficiently stored and utilized during periods of peak demand.

 

Megoldás:

To address these challenges, POWEROAD delivered the FLEX 215 léghűtéses kültéri szekrény ESS with a capacity of 62.5 kW / 215 kWh, designed to integrate seamlessly with the school’s existing renewable energy infrastructure to achieve:

The FLEX 215 ESS stores excess solar energy generated during the day and discharges it during peak usage times or low-production periods, ensuring the school’s energy demand is consistently met while maximizing the use of clean energy.

✅ Demand Response & Grid Support

By providing stored energy during periods of high demand, the ESS helps the school reduce dependence on the constrained grid, avoid peak demand charges, and maintain stable operations without interruptions.
