Power Station ESS Project

Power Station ESS Project: Optimizing Solar Energy Storage at a PV Power Station in the Czech Republic

Background:

A PV power station in the Czech Republic sought a solution to efficiently manage excess solar energy produced during midday peak production. Without energy storage, surplus energy would be transmitted to the grid, risking overloading and reducing efficiency. The station aimed to enhance solar self-consumption and increase energy independence while optimizing the use of renewable energy.

Challenges:

  1. Grid Overload Risks: Excess solar energy during peak production posed challenges to grid stability.
  2. Energy Wastage: Surplus power without storage led to inefficiencies and underutilization of renewable resources.
  3. Dependency on the Grid: The station sought to minimize reliance on the grid for energy stability and cost savings.

Solution:

To address these challenges, POWEROAD provided its FLEX 215 Air Cooling Outdoor Cabinet ESS with a capacity of 500kW / 860kWh, tailored to the station’s energy management needs through:

✅ Solar Energy Storage: Captures surplus solar energy during midday peaks, preventing grid overload and enabling efficient energy use.

✅ Increased Self-Sufficiency: Enhances energy independence by storing and utilizing renewable energy on-site.

✅ Sustainable Energy Management: Optimizes the use of solar resources, reducing reliance on the grid and supporting sustainability goals.

With POWEROAD’s FLEX 215 ESS, the PV power station in the Czech Republic has achieved efficient energy storage and optimized solar energy use. By addressing grid overload risks and enhancing energy independence, the project demonstrates how advanced energy storage solutions can drive sustainability and efficiency in renewable energy operations.
