Challenge
In Romania, a restaurant sought to reduce rising electricity costs while ensuring uninterrupted operations in a demanding hospitality environment. Restaurant rely heavily on stable power for refrigeration, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and lighting. Power interruptions or peak demand spikes could directly impact customer experience and daily operations.

Solution
In collaboration with Volt Heaven, POWEROAD deployed three Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units across two project sites, integrated with the customer’s on-site solar PV systems.
- Butchery: 240 kWp PV system + 215 kWh (FLEX 215 All-in-One BESS)
- Restaurant: 230 kWp PV system + 430 kWh (2 × FLEX 215 All-in-One BESS)
The systems operate with VoltAI EMS, enabling intelligent energy management, including:
- Load shifting
- Real-time energy optimization
- Peak demand control
The EMS dynamically controls major loads such as AC units, heat pumps, and refrigeration systems, maximizing PV self-consumption while reducing reliance on the grid during peak hours and busy operating periods.
